But am I right in saying that say when the new iphone5 comes out i can update my 4 to the latest software via itunes of course
But with an android you have to wait for your handset and network to allow you to do so?
technically you wont even need to update via itunes, it does it over the air
Like Android, Windows and even Nokia?

so with android
you download music from itunes/wherever, move it to your music folder, drga and drop to your phone
you download apps from google, save it in an apps folder, and drag and drop to your phone
your photo's you drag and drop OFF your phone to your pictures folder
where as itunes, you plug it in, click "sync" and it syncs your music with your music folder, your pictures and your apps (all of them or just the ones you specify) for you

No, you get music from wherever you want.
You get apps from either the market or you can browse online and send it to your phone, they are synced with your account.
Photo's will sync with whatever service you want (I'd want them to go to my computer but seems most people want them to go to facebook or somewhere).

Different methods obviously suit different people.
With an iPhone it's Apple's way or the highway.
I'll still get an iPhone and use iTunes if the phone is any good btw.

same, i'm a massive fan of the gakaxy s2 and the new Dre Sensation (whatever its called) so not devoted soley to apple.
Yes with Apple, it's this way or no way, but then they'd rather that then your phone not work, them looking bad, and as already said, can takes months to get the latest version on some phones, if at all

Apps can be installed in 3 ways
Going to android market on the phone and click install
Going to https://market.android.com/ (which I do on my work computer so I can install stuff without my boss knowing i'm playing with my phone) and clicking install (or uninstall)
Downloading via a torrent etc and dropping onto your SD card
Music can be
Downloaded directly to the phone, shared to any other phone via bluetooth etc
Downloaded to computer and then put in the music folder on the phone/memory card (when you plug it in can see the phone as a removable disk)

Ok so heres a scenario
Ages ago you downloaded angry birds via the market but it wound you up so you removed it
But then your stuck in one evening and your internet is down and you think, well what better to pass the time than to play angry birds again
Could you put it back on your android without the internet?

The APK installer file remains on the phone so you can install it from that

If you had installed via the market and you had no internet (you'd have to have lost both broadband and mobile) then no you couldn't install it again.
Does it Neo, ok then, that's what I learneted today.
