After 9 years, finally got the downstairs wired up to the new board on Sunday so now got lights and sockets! Arrived in the 20th century at last. Anyway, got phone lines and hence internet being installed in 2 weeks; TV arrived today. Sofa is awaiting delivery-then need to get some furniture.

Looking good Rich.
I'm not a fan of all those cables and socks, personally i would of hidden somewhere. However, this is your home and you have built it. Wish i had the skills to do this

Sockets are going behind a TV/Audio unit that I'm building so won't be seen at all.
Lamp was from Aldi Ben.

Sofa arrived last night and although would fit through the front and side door, it wouldn't go through the next doors along so ended up calling in a few favours and lifting it over the garage/utility room roof instead!
Its a corner sofa and that the smaller part - neither would fit through the doors.

Looks good mate. Those lights would drive me insane though. It's a living room, not an arcade.
Next you'll be telling me you have the dance mat game.

We had a super-king bed delivered (comes in two halves) and it wouldn't go up the bloody stairs.. I had to take a knife to the bottom of it to cut the liner then dismantle the frame for the drawers so we could use the extra 'empty space' to get it over the banisters

Currently in the process of clearing the garage out, painting and tiling one bathroom, tiling another and putting some paving down in the back garden.
Got an old mate coming Friday to lend a hand.

Combi boiler getting fitted today. -3c outside and no heating. Front doors wide open. My boiler broke a month ago so we've been using oil filled rads to get by

Christ, what a day that was! Been awake since 3pm yesterday, done a night shift and then had to stay awake all day for the boiler guys to install this.
They were here from 7:30am-5:30pm, so quite a long day, but glad it's fitted now.
I personally hate pipes on show, but there's not much that could be done about it. Will just have to box them in. Also want to move the hive down onto the tiles, as it looks a bit of where it is now.
Just glad to have heating again. Old boiler went exactly a month ago. Upgraded to combi now, so instant hot water
