Agreed. I felt the S3 performed better when I sacked off widgets, any themes I'd applied, had fewer home screens, closed any memory intensive apps running in the background etc. Trouble is, those were all the reasons I bought it in the first place.

I'm in no way one of the fan boys you get on here but I've had both an S2 and 3 and have never experienced lag like in any of the videos showing it there in about 2 years of daily use

Samsung's bits undoubtedly slow it down a bit, it's got enough power to not be affected as much as Apple fanboys like to make out.
Pure android doesn't slow down at all, I don't even reboot my nexus that often, easily on par with the iPhone, I'd obviously say better than.
The S4 has even more power, so although not the most elegant way to go about it, it still won't be anything like a non real life usage video shows.

I'm purely going off my experience of using android on a Samsung device (and therefore touchwiz), I've no doubt it runs better on a nexus device with all the crap stripped out, still dubious about it running as well as iOS though. That said, following all the work they did on project butter(that only some phones such as the nexus can take advantage of) I read something about them finally starting to prioritise the GPU (over the CPU) to retain fluidity in the OS in the same way iOS does. Regardless of what corsasport says Google clearly think its a problem.

Ash is an apple fanboy. But a fan boy who went to Android to use a much more customisable system, that he found to be sluggish when used how he wanted. Thus making the advantages over apple useless.
This won't change no matter how many times its brought up for and against Android or iOS
