I hope not, the fish would get ripped to shreds especially the way the Vizsla tries to swim, not exactly graceful!

This is great, it makes me want to build something like this when I've got a place with a garden

The look of confusion on the black dog in that video!

Knowing fuck all about ponds, this might be a silly question, but couldn't the dogs damage the inside coating with their claws?

Coping of some sort but but decided yet. I really want to get it rendered as soon as possible, and we've also talked the neighbours into replacing their fence too so it matches the new one that we put up on the other side a few months ago :-)

No, the heaters are off again now and it's back to normal pond temperature which I think is around 18 degrees at this time of year.
We got the big filter moved from the pond at my mum's place last night and got it up and running with a bit of a bodge job temporarily (waiting on a few bits of pipework to be delivered to get it hooked up properly but at least it's got water flowing through it, I've just stuck a pump in the final chamber of the filter and pumping the water out of there directly into the pond.)
We also got about half of the fish moved over, and the other half will be coming tonight. Here is a quick video from this morning :-)

Still not 100% decided yet. As I said at the beginning of the thread, this pond project has been temporarily funded by my mum due to the time constraints of getting the fish moved and her pond closed down. With buying the new house and spending £50k+ on it since moving in, funds are understandably quite tight right now so I think that, aside from rendering it and putting on the coping, the rest of the garden may now have to wait until next summer, aside from maybe putting down some grass seed in the meantime so it doesn't look like a building site! I think that we may end up doing the decking round the pond sooner rather than later though, we're just waiting for a few quotes to come in.
Eventually though we want to have stone paving round the garden with LEDs and maybe another small water feature with those jumping jets that you can get (I love them! )

No more progress yet really, been busy for the last few weekends! The granite company have been round to measure up and template the pond though to do the coping and stepping stones, so hopefully getting that done in the next week or so :-)

That was just for doing the coping round the top of 3 sides of the pond (as 2 will be hidden by the decking eventually) and three stepping stones. Absolutely ridiculous so we are obviously not going to get that done now. Busy this weekend but I think we are free next weekend, so may well end up doing it oursleves the old fashioned way with tiles or bricks. We need to get it done to be able to get it rendered, so it is the most important job now. We've also chosen the cream marble pavers to go on the ground by the pond and they are coming back into stock in 3 weeks so fingers crossed before xmas we can finish the coping, render the walls and make a decent start on the paving. I will update this thread as and when there is any more progress :-)

Ouch. Good lad, I guess you want to do it all before the real bad winter weather homes in!
