Prob with mine was i changed which Ethernet socket the 360 was plugged into, the router didnt like this and change all settings which wouldnt allow live to connect.
I plugged it back in the first port, did a hard reset of the xbox settings and all is well

We are due to be getting sky broadband in the new year, they supply a wireless router. This is about as much as I know.
i believe there are major drawbacks using live through Sky broadband
do a search, i think sky are trying to sort it

Its because some routers dont open all the ports that Xbox live needs to use for online play, hence when you do a netowrk test in the live dashboard it sayd your NAT is either OPEN, MOD, Strict
OPEN is needed, although Moderate sometines works. That link i posted will help if your NAT settings are MOD/STRICT

I hadnt heard of this. TBH we need to get a BT phone line reconnected before we can get Sky broadband.
IMO, this will take a long time to do cos neithwr me, or my parents can be bothered.

yep, I know he has a Linksys router, not sure what model though.
I really need to get round to his and take a look at things instead of trying to guide him through MSN, he doesn't have a clue

Personally I don't like popups. But I understand that it's an important source of revenew for lot's of sites today.
I think that webmaster are bringing it on themselfs. By abusing the PopUp media feature on lot's of sites they have anoyed the visitors so much that they have opened a market for PopUps/Banner blockers. and it was only time untill some ISP (unfortunatly one of the bigs) decided that in order to give his visitors a "better experiance" he will "add" one of this programs as a standard feature to the tool's he give them.
My main problem is diferant.
This type of programs practically disable a feature that is builded into the faundation of the HTML/JS standards. If using this type of programs will be more common, I for example will not be able to use this features also for things that are not ad oriented.
Still it's much more easy this way.
Just direct all the visitors from Earthlink to a page that say that this site is up deu to the popups in it, and that if they want to view it that they better get a real ISP that don't try to stop the usage of stansards.
On the buttom line - It's much more easy to block visitors from a single ISP than to try and detect the use of PopUp/Banner blockers on a personal visitor base.
