It didn't make a difference anyway.
I'm not sure about that though, push still has to be listening constantly.

Can't belive I just missed out on the free £10 deal on HUKD's (none related comment alert)
On topic, I'm really liking some of these notification centre themes:
http://www.macstories.net/news/a-roundup-of-custom-notification-center-widgets-themes-and-mockups/
That said, I'm really disapointed that you can pull the notification centre down from the lock screen. *goes off to look for a fix in Cydia*

The notifications show up in the lock screen?
My battery is at 36% now, will definitely have to charge it because it won't last until I get home.
Says 4 hours usage and 6 standby.
It's only been off the charger for 7 hours?

I mean, the ability to drag down the notification centre from the lock screen.
As a guide, my 4 has been used more than normal today from immediately after I woke up at 7am, checking twitter/facebook etc up to now and currently have 81% battery.
Also managed to punt the 4S, took £570 cash for it in the end from the local Asian mobile phone corner shop, dodgy bastards.

My battery lasted ages on the first day, didn't charge it until 9pm the second day.
Third day (using it less, especially Siri!) it died about 7pm.
Same with last couple of days.
Turned off; compass calibration, location based iAds, time zone and traffic.
8pm now and 66% battery. Seems to have solved it.
@dan, thought you was on about an 18-month O2 contract

So what is the score with the battery life on these things?
Would I be better off just picking up a second hand 4 rather than a 4s?

Loads of complaints about iOS5 as well.
Seem to be a lot more that have good battery life than not though.
I'll give my battery another couple of full cycles then think about getting a replacement.

My mate sang "Uncle Fucker" from South Park to Siri the other day to send to me in a message.... I quote....
"litterbug invades uncle bugger Europe accepting 'something something' uncle bugger bugger I must say I thought your uncle yesterday LaVaca that you NCL's barbeque motherfucker sublevels"
In fairness, that wasn't too bad

That problem sounds very familiar, just like the 4 did when it came out.

John quoted batt times are manafacturer optimums where it doesnt get used. Real use is completely different. Not maximum operating times.

I know, it wouldn't have even lasted me through work today though, and that wasn't using it much, read some emails, sent a few messages.
My desire didn't have amazing battery life but it lasted longer with the same use.

Im yet to make a comparisson fairly as i dont use mine at work, the weekend should be interesting. My 3gs with heavy use managed to make it to about 10-11pm until i got 20% warning. From about 8:30am in the morning, that was with near perfect signal use via wifi though
