I swear Apple has made a fuck up with the anodization.
I have a Sony compact camera, the type that's waterproof and impact resistant, made of anodized aluminium. It's had a pretty rough life to say the least and there's hardly a mark on it.

Spoke to someone else who had just got a 5 today because their old contract ran out. Standard person, not some sort of geek weirdo. First impressions of the phone were that it's no different to their last one and that apple are slacking.

It is no different from the last but at least it works and works how you'd expect. Going Android made me realise that matters more than having flashy new interfaces every year.
No denying they messed up badly with the annodisation.

I'm not bothering with the iPhone 5, keeping my 4 for now and have just moved over to a SIM only contract with O2.
Will see what the next iPhone is going to be like. I'm hoping there will be some significant improvements, considering Jony Ive is now in charge of the iOS 'human interface' stuff now...

Annoying thing is, I found a broken 4s I have, held it and it felt a brick. So can't downgrade.
Also can't really move from apple due to some apps I use far too much. Catch 22, they've got me.

Yeah same when I use the mrs 4S, screen is a bit of a downer from the S3 but the crispness and fact I can reach all of it makes up for it.

Bottom quarter of my screen is dead.
It still responds if you randomly touch it, but bottom of screen is black.
Annoyingly it's black right where the keyboard is, so have to guess in landscape where the missing letters are.
Will be taking it to the apple store later today.

Whats the general consensus of the iPhone 5? I'm looking at upgrading to a 5 from my 4. Did consider an S3, but it just feels cheap as shit

I agree with Steve on this one.
For the price I'd be expecting steel, not aluminium. At the very least I'd want a better quality aluminium than what's used.
I'd feel even more fucked if it was plastic, though.

I think the material quality and cost has gone down even more in this latest iphone compared to the previous models. Some corner cutting has definitely happened

Have you held one? It doesn't feel cheap in any way compared with most other plastic phones to be fair.
