If You go to settings then general then about, then go abit down the page and it should be like 4.1 or 4.2.1 on the right. Thats what OS your on

cydia is updating youtube to mp3 app, its been like that for a good 15 mins, I dont wanna switch it on / off incase it messes up what can I do?

I need to unlock my 3gs. Its on basband 50.15.04? (off top of my head aint got it with me). Aprantly i need to uploaed the ipad software on the jailbreak.

Everytime i down a software to do it (recommended on the net), the software never works on my pc to start the jailbreak

Help please?

4.3.1, can it be done yet?

I've had to restore my iPhone as it was running so damn slow and apps kept shutting down. Even trying to remove photos wasn't happening.

I just Updated my 'iPhone 4' to 4.3.1.
It took nearly 2 hours to do it!!!! God knows why though, i didnt read the update as was browsing on here

I spent a full day jailbraking and unlocking my 3GS

I knew nothing about it before this before spending hours reading and watching vids.

The actuall process took bout 15 mins. I tried all sorts, and found alot of the 4.3.1 cracks to be unreliable (freezing when doing it. I was running 4.2.1 before but accidently updated to 4.3.1 via intunes as i crashed the phone totally).

In the end i downgraded to 4.1 (download the ipsw file from the net, and unloaded it via itunes), and used the latest redsnow to jailbreak and uploaded the ipad software on it (to enable me to unlock it as i couldnt do it on the baseband that comes with 4.3.1).

Apple are making them harder and harder to crack. If you did it a while ago, it would of been simple but due to getting more and more complex, they are harder to crack. Through hours worth of research, i found the older phone to be really simple.

Sometimes I redownloaded the files from another source and they worked better. Sometimes they can be very hit and miss! I think I had a similar problem when trying to go to 4.2.1 and in the end I just unplugged it for a while and started again. It worked for me and I'm talking to you now on the phone.

Its out and im trying to do my mates as we speak. The it wont down grade to 4.1 like yours (even though its the same file i used a few days ago), so im going a thetherd jailbrake and cydia should would with that apprantly. I did unthered which was reliase other day and cydia doesnt work yet.

I did it in the end! I did a unthered break on 4.3.1 but ultrasn0w did work with it so then did custom files with snowbreeze on a theatherd break and it worked. I found everythingapplepro to be the best for up to date intro! He says yesterdAy that the unthered unlock on 4.3.1 should be here within a week. Loads of messing around last night!
