anyone done this before, need to find some info about how to do it, whats the mating of the looms like etc and what i need cheers james

u need nova engine loom, ecu , gearbox.

Use corsa engine mounts if u dont have pas.

Looms are colour for colour.

Nice conversion to do tbh!

yep - good strong engines, as long as its not a high miler and been thrashed. Both 8v, so straight drop in i believe.

Oh, and you wont need to fit a cat converter by law, coz the original engine didnt have one

u will need a cat converter as vehicle was made after august 1st 1992 IT dose not go on year of engine its on year of vehicle so u will need a cat by law

This is incorrect. I know a local boy with a 1990 Astra GTE 20XE engine in his 94 corsa SRi, and he chose this engine deliberately so that he could get away with out having a cat. He's passed 3 MOTs with this engine in, at 2 different test stations, and both have told him it goes by the year of the engine.

yea i thught i wouldnt need a cat cos it was by the age of the engine too,i've heard the nova ecu sits in the engine bay but i just need to know which other wires

to mate up eg ignition fuel pump etc colours and where bouts they are cheers lads

its year of car and if u read mot hand book its aug 1st 1992 the only reason i say this is im doing mot corse and i asked this and i was told by ministry its year of car

Whenever my bro takes his valver nova in for an MOT, they check the engine code/year and set the emissions level by this.

A garage told me that it was early 93 models it was required to have a cat as i asked cos my whole zorst went inc cat and i couldnt afford a new one he said not to bother
