thats cool! I've finally got my lazy arse a well enough paid job so i can start modding, how much do you guy's reckon im looking at to buy and replace the inlet manifold? i take it replacing the inlet manifold will respond well to a new exhaust manifold too?

Yes - my engine runs TBs. Here's the rest of the spec:
GEMS Mini-Zeta engine management system
Gas-flowed and fully ported head
Omega 80mm oversized forged pistons (Keronite coated)
Arrow Steel Con Rods
ARP Racing con rod bolts
Lead/Copper big end bearings
Stainless head gasket
Fully balanced and blueprinted internals
12.2:1.0 compression ratio
21/4N Stainless steel valves machined with race profile
SBD uprated double valve springs with solid lifters
SBD titanium valve caps
Lightened and balanced flywheel
SBD 295/295 high lift cams
SBD vernier pulleys
SBD aluminium cam belt tensioners
SBD 4:2:1 ceramic coated race manifold
Maximum output - 214bhp at 8450rpm
Maximum torque - 146lb/ft at 6200rpm
The expensive bit is the forged pistons and steel con rods, but they're what's needed once you start to rev past 8000rpm, which I where I make my peak power...

What does it rev to?
I take it you have a 2.5" exhaust bore?

CCs - 1638ccs if I remember
Revs to 9000rpm
I use 2.25 inch custom exhaust. Used to be convinced that 2.5 was minimum require until I spoke to Swindin racing who were running a 2 inch exhaust on a 217bhp X16XE!

BadBoy - it's not cheap and could have got cheaper power by dropping in a 2L. But it's lots of fun and impossible not to grin when you change up gears at 8800rpm
Miles - Best standing quarter (accurately measured with Datron timing) to date is 14.7. But that was before car was properly stripped out and fitted with LSD. I have a close ratio Quaife box going in this month - I'm hoping for low 14s and a mid 5 second time to 60 (current best is 6.04)

hey andy, you've set a bench mark now matey. i want a car that'll rev to 9000 and have bags or grunt! lol, gonna need yet again a better paid job tho 
i can understand the satisfaction you mush have owning a 1.6 thats that fookin fast, plus the insurance for that cc engine is bound to be less than an equivelent 2ltr. Love it mate, keep the udates comming when you fit that quaife box.

Thats strange cos when i fitted my mantzel power box i had to change the lower inlet manifold for a sport one cos there different and this has now got EGR ports on it which i had to blank off

I use a 2" system, I was told that big exhaust bores make more noise and cost loads, thats about it!
I did a 14.804 before, without LSD, in a stripped nova. You should be pushing 13's easily, depending on weight etc...

Andy, brunters is uphill hence why ur 1/4 mile time wasn't great!! At somewhere like santa pod i think u'd be doing a low low 14, high 13!
Greasemonkey, only the C16XE mantzel kit comes with the lower inlet manifold?
I use a 2" bore on my 2.0litre. Its very very smooth, but it seems to be damn quick!

Whats funny about that? Bruntingthorpe proving ground? The first 3/4 mile the runway goes at an uphill slant. Then it peaks and goes back down again?
