i had the half life disk loaned to me and counterstrike is on there, counterstrike is basically a sub game which uses the format of half life. i think it is available for ownload on the net, sumthin like counterstrike.net
anyway you need to get the CD key for half life for it to work i believe

i typed in counterstrike on kaazaa.its came up wit a 500meg ish file saying counterstrike (half life is not required) wat u think of that then!?

you can now buy counter strike to play on ts own,
download that mucnh,
sounds the right file

very addictive, considering how old it is but yea, you need a cd-key to get it working, each key is unique, thus 2 or more ppl using the same key can not play online
