Just been offered a 2.0l 16v Redtop from an Astra GTE. Its £500 and the lad will deliver it aswell. The thing is its covered 80k, is this the average mileage you would expect when swapping lumps?

i have seen them on 100+ and still hitting book BHP
mines on 79k and we took out a 33k 1.6 16v

How do you know?
If its been well looked after than mileage isn't as important, but you can quite easily have a low mileage dog if its been neglected.

For that price i'd bloodyt want the rear discs, + the digi dash as well.
I paid £300 for mine. Coscast (Im loving this coscast business  ), 90k, FSH (which i've got), all receipts etc. The car it came out of was completly standard.
£500 is a bit steep, tell him £350 is the going rate for engines.
