It came today, The top marked PROCURATER FISCALS OFFICE.
GUTTED!!!
Opened it up and i find out that im getting a £30 quid fine for my EXHAUST BEING MODIFIED FROM DATE OF MANUFACTURE TO CREATE EXCESSIVE NOISE DUE TO ESCAPING EXHAUST GAS.
What tossers.

Was touring the streets and i drove past the cops who were parked up on the street. All of a sudden blue lights the lot.
He got out and started going mental at me saying that it was FAR to loud. So i asked for both there badge numbers so they had to stop shouting at me. He got his ruler out and started measuring my tail pipe. Now for anyone that has a 1.4 16v sport and a magnex system that the exhaust aint that loud. Its all induction.
Well the charged me with the above. The law says that u cannot alter ur exhaust after date of manufacture to create excessive noise.
Now tell me this, rally cars are allowed on the roads and they dont get pulled for their exhausts, why me. No way is my exhaust louder than a rally car.

rally cars are prolly not road rego'd. Theyre allowed on the road under special circumstance with a special permit.

nah, they have to have a valid MOT before entering the stages. Thats the law here. Maybe ur WRC cars but i know all the cars that enter the rallys up in scotland and im sure england will be the same have to have a valid MOT before entering the scrutineering.

Well its not though is it, else you'd have to have disclaimers and stickers on exhausts saying 'for off road use only' and the like. You'd also never pass an mot.

so its one of these grey areas. Some companies do say that. Magnex for a start. The say there exhausts dont comply with traffic laws in some countries.

i have an exhaust that sounds like a proper bitch drive past coppers all the time never been pulled :/,the bloke down ascar says it isnt ilegal either

hang on when you say cant have a exaust after manufacturers to make excessive noise....do u mean if the exaust u fit to your car is louder than the standard then its ilegal??? coz loads of people fit exausts which are louder than the standard, thats the whole point!!
my car really roars wen i put my foot down n police so far have said nothing to me!

i do belive as long as the db is under a certain level they can NOT do anything

yea & they have no way of proving how loud it is - its your word against theirs
so basically you need somebody to test the noise level
