I've recently been told that the middle silencer that is on my car is fookin massive, basically its not wot was orginally on the car and that somewhere along the line a new ones bin fitted that is bigger than standard.
Now I've heard that inside the middle silencer is like wirey wool stuff and this is what slows down the flow causes backpressure and quietens it. Is this true? If I were to poke a rod down through the silencer and clear some of this wool stuff away hopefully the sound at the end of the backbox will be a lil louder and I won't have a huge loss in backpressure.
I don't want to get rid of the silencer completely however I may have to look at fitting a smaller one. Anyway is it true that there is this wirey wooly stuff inside one?
cheers
Matt

Yeh but its covered with a metal gauze so poking something down wouldn't work.
You would acually have to rip the silecer apart to get anything out of it!!!

you risk the silencer collapsing if you do that and blocking the exhaust then the car wont run. your best bet is to get a performance system
