4 grand on a up to grp 16 car. has to be a toyota GT4 celica ST185. with 75p tuned mates from 198 to 260. not bad. and good handling thanks to AWD

williams clio? i'm sure you could pick a phase 1 or 2 up and tune it to 200bhp no problemo. just need the funds n resources to get the engine out

the mark 2 vtr is around 98 bhp and does 0-60 quicker than the Corsa Gsi and the corsa 1.6 sport,not much between them tho

would agree with you but the 4wd system is prone to going wrong and its very expensive to replace/ repair, if i had £4000 to spend on a car i would get a nissan 200 sx turbo, nearly 200bhp and RWD

with 4k i would go clibra all the way. Even the 2.0 16v is quite quick.

dont go for the turbo, i was thinkin it meself an the 4x4 system is a ballix and they're expensive to run!!
get a mint GSi shud be aroun 2k for a gd un and spend 2k on it ie. throttle bodies cams chip etc and u will be a very happy camper!!

The Celica is a heavy pig of a car.. the later ones had more grunt, but the 185 is a pile of shite..
A mate has one, with bleed valve and a few other mods, up to 250bhp..
My (then standard) ITR pulled away in every gear.. Heavy car with a lot of drivetrain losses due to the 4wd..
If I was in your boat id go Prelude VTEC (Import) 197bhp, 0-60 in 6.5, and around 140 top end.. 1/4 mile of 15 seconds (as quick as an escort cossie  )
I did a few mods to mine, exhaust, filter and VAFC, and that kicked out 214bhp, with 0-60 timed in 6.2 on an apexi RSM, and a best 1/4 of 14.7
I had it two years and all that it needed was a new suspension bush..
