every once in a while when ive lifted off the accelerator
say coming up to a junction 2nd or 3rd gear i go back on the power same gear
itll hesitate pop/bang kinda like a misfire then caryy on as normal
ive never been able to "make" it do it
just wondered what it could be?

unburned fuel combusting when it touches

Yes it does sound good, pity it doesnt spit flames out when it does- Rally style!

thats cos they have a 5th injector which sprays fuel straight into the turbo. antilag system.

Had this happen to me aswell during the last 6 months I was on thr road, but without any hesitation.
If I floored after slowing down, or doing quick gear changes while under hard acceleration caused a mighty nice 'pop/bang' from the rear, and it wasn't quiet!
Scared the shite outa some old couple once in the multi-storey car park in warrington aswell!

yea i get this on gear changes and lift offs, but very occasionally..
tis very loud

it will foook ya catalitic convertor up if you dnt sort it, flames goin through the exhaust burn ya baffles and all sorts, you can make a corsa back fire with flames but it aint advisable

Mine did this lots when I ran a straight tru system on my 1.2 16V, ONLY did it when rolling down hills/ pulling up to lights where you are OFF the gas and you bring the clutch up changing up the gears and bring the revs in at 1700-2000 rpm.

it happens under engine breaking on my 1.2 but its hardly noticable more of a thud than a bang.
