if u just want ur car to backfire then mess up the ignition timing
if u mean the flames cummin out of exhaust then u can get a flame kit but usually work best on turbo motors

if u got a straight through systemlike i said u can get loud bangs and small flames, imo it looks better than big gas fed flames that flicker around the back of the car like the bat mobile! It will cost u a spark plug, a coil, a switch and wire to the battery....

u'll not really get results worth it unless u got straight through or at least 1.4 16v

im not saying it wont work in ur case, i dont know just i know it works with a straight through 1.4 16v and obviously u want the most unburnt fuel and unburnt 'shit' flying out the back to make a bang

I dunno if this works on newer cars but my mate used to go upto about 3K revs in 2nd gear, turn the ignition off (leaving it in gear), then put your foot flat to the floor, then turn the ignition back on so it bump starts. = backfire
I cant see it doing your engine any good tho.
Oh his car was an old 1.1 fiesta

Wouldnt work on cars with Injectors, only on carbs.

backfire isn't a good thing, as it shows ur ignitiontiming is off.
but it does happen after a few minutes of hi rev driving, and as u slow down, u play with the trottle and lift off suddenly around 2krpm..
rarely happens tho.

I used to do this on my nova 1.4 SR, couldnt you just turn the engine off and back to ignition floor the accelerator pumping fuel in the engine then just pop it in gear, on a carb car the engine turning turns the fuel pump on an injecton car its electronic would this work

WHY THE HELL DO U WANT TO DO THIS???
I cant believe the modifying world has come to this. People wanting to make their exhausts go BANG, and spit out a little flame.
Why dont u drain all the coolant out as well, so u can make steam come from ya engine bay -> now thats cool isnt it????

I don't think it' s a good idea, I've just melted part of my exhaust from backfiring, not much I can do about it, it's good, but gets annoying after a while, and police get pissed of when you coast up to light popping and banging. But I'm running a mappable ecu and the over run on the map is set so that the timeing retards and the fueling stays up, hence popping. I'm tryig to mod the map at the mo to stop this, it will be expensive if I'm getting new middle sections every 3months.
