ive started to remove my door handles today but dident get to finish it all coz it turned pich black there is still alot to do nowhere near smooth yet tho its just been primed to keep the rust off

looks good mate, how long did it take to remove the door handle and get to that stage?

it took along time lol i dont have central locking the door is always unlocked i pop the door by remote

yeah, sounds good mate, just get an alarm you can activate mate for smashed windows ect. and remove door pins so

abit dodgy isnt it?? surely someone could get in, wack a screwdriver down the side or sumthing?

its just as safe as having a key hole and i got mine from ram car audio

the door popper will pop the latch to, so you cant just stick something down the side of the door. it aint the best option, but its a good option, and safe ish.

door popper kits are easilty available for about 90-150

yeah its a real arse cos the welding distorts the whole door if your not careful.

been working on it a bit more 2day dont get alot of time to do it but its gettin there just a bit more sanding and it will look smooth

what i personally would have done is after it was welded would be to fibreglass matt the whole thing and about 5cm each side of the welded plate. then sand that down and fill over the top, this is how a very well known and highly recommended bodyshop do it.

i got quoted £250 for both doors from Spraynique in Stoke on Trent. that included the fitting of door popping kits and them wiring to the alarm to pop drivers door wen alarm is deactivated. Stubsy had his done there, from the pics it looks like a top job. check his garage for pics

i can do some of the stuff my self, just the welding, filling and painting id want doing as im not good at touch ups!
