Hi guys, I have a very basic question: my car is a 1993 1.4 Corsa Sri, Has single or multipoint Injection?
Also I think is an 8V and not the 16V, isn’t it?

If its an Sri it will be Multipoint injection.
The 1.4 8v standards are the single point injection ones

I don't, I thought I Knew but when the guy asked me I got all confused. I need to know for sure because I have to order some parts.
Can anybody tell me for sure how many valves and if it is single or multipoint injections of a 1993 1.4 Sri (It was one of the first corsas not nova)??
I would really appreciate as the guy on the phone talked to me as if I was stupid.

The 8v SRI engine out the Nova that went in the corsa was multipoint, as is the X14XE the 16V

early sri's were multpoint 8 valve engines, the later ones were the same engine as the 1.4 sports i think...

Sri were 8v mpi and later around m/n reg they were 16v. then the sport came out which were 16v

Mine is 94/95 SRi and its multi point injection. Can tell the diff between my corsa and astra as the astra is single point and numb as fek compared.

Ok, mine a 93 Lreg SRi is a C14SE, 1.4 8v, multipoint injection. Yours should be the same, one easy way to check - right look on the block on the right as you are looking in to the engine bay at the front of the car, you are looking for the letters and numbers, where head is, you have the exhaust manifold coming off the engine on the exhaust going underneath the engine look to the right of this, on the lower part of the engine there is a small part of the lower engine (the block) exposed this is where the numbers are, and should read "C14SE", youll have to scrap the dirt to see it tho but it should be there! Hope this helps!

Indeed, there were Novas fitted with a 1.4i unit which were supposed to be 60 bhp (they even had Spi) and were as fast as the SRi, supposed to be 82bhp, the very same unit which was used in the Corsa SRi. As PaulW says there is then obviously two engines of similar power which are 1.4 and NOT 60 bhp and they were used in the Corsa Sri.
Easiest way to tell what you got is look at the engine, the rear edge of the head if you like, if its Multipoint there will be what looks like little taps, four of them going into each port and with single point, a single device which looks like a carb if you like, perched on an inlet manifold, without a plenum chamber. Clear as mud right !

I have an 14 8V SI (belgium)
The C14SE MPI
I noticed some differences on the motor with the 8V SPI
MPI
On the right of the block where the sparc-cables come to the block is with cooling vinnes (like the coolers for processors)
SPI
There is a hose running from the airbox to the manifolt. the MPI doesn't have it
