how do i go about paintin this do i need to sand it all down an use plastic prima and normal paint or has it gotta be heat proof

just sand it then use plastic primer, then normal body paint, then laquer

sand it, use 800grade wet and dry, prime it 2coats, paint it 2-3coats, 1200 grade wet and dry to smooth it down, then laquer it.

ive sprayed my rocker cover and most of my interior but ive never sanded down the paint coat before using laquer on it??
wats the difference if i sanded it before using laquer? does it imrove the durability in any way? does it look better?

1200 wet and dry should really be classed as sanding down cos it almost smooth itself

Hey mate.
I'll just tell you what I did. Not saying that it's the best way or anything, though.
I sanded it all down, nearly until all the silver stuff was off (went slightly overboard), until it was really smooth. Then I used 2 coats of primer, and engine enamel for the top coats. I was advised against using lacquer, cos with the engine heat, the lacquer may yellow after a period of time.
After about a year, it's still perfect. No discolouring, no peeling or bubbles, and it's still as shiney as the day I painted it. Easy to clean engine bay dust, and oil spilled on it when topping up, too.
