my new hard drive is currently in NTFS format running windows XP. Isn't FAT 32 meant to be better?

Also hard drives arent bought with ntfs
When u format ure hard drive it gives u the option to set it to ntfs or fat 32, fat32 is more dos based whereas ntfs is windows based
