my car is being tracked now and they said wether to set it up as a gsi or standard?

i heard that gsi are lowered as standard by 15 mm

my car is lowered 50mm and is a p reg 1.4 16V sport

shall it be set as normal or GSI??

it should be set so that the wheels are pointing in the same direction (or not by 1 degree max)

cheers adam, they put it on the tracking thing and the computer asked to track it normal or gsi setup.

i thought gsi might be better as they are lowered 15mm as standard and mine is 50mm lower and thought it might be better for tyres and that.

but they have tracked it nomal.

if ya get it on a lazer tracking machine ya dont need to know the cars suspension set up. you adjust it till the lazers show the wheels are straight, i had my car set up using standard GSI tracking procedure and had to get it done again cos it was 13mm or so OUT

tracking never goes right.... took kwik-shit 4 attempts and fobbed me off with.. "we 4got to centralise the front wheels with the rear wheels" woteva the fook that means

oh rite, well they called and said what was it ( surely they should know, there mechanics) but told them it was a 1.4 16V, they said the computer needed to know.

could be a different tracking machine??

well if your cars lowered it needs to be tracked so the wheels are staight, not so it matches a standard GSI un lowered on 14" rims, the two would be well out, im not at all confident these guys will get it right

i had mine laser aligned mate...mine must be lowered 50mm+ and they did it to the normal settins for a 1.4 16v.

i had mine laser aligned, the man told me that my bvrakes were warped and he could replace them there and then, 4stud v6 discs off the shelf, really!!!!, he didnt even drive the car, since lost all faith in garages lol

When i made the fatful mistake of not using a lazer alighnment machine i had to buy new tyres 4 months later

well i've had it doen and they traked it to a normal 1.4 16V and they adjusted the camber as best as possible and the car is now ok, just gotta see how long it takes before the inside walls go bald like the last pair.

gotta get camber adjusters.
