ok, had new starter motor and solenoid fitted to car by garage
but on 2nd day it didnt start properly, but then 5 mins later it did, rang the garage and the guy told me to check behind the key barrel for any wrecked wires and if not bring it back in
any suggestions?
THE PROBLEM TO RECAP
sometimes when trying to start car when i turn the key the engine wont turn over, doesnt actually turn, the solenoid just clicks once
can be bumped but not jumped and battery has 12 volts across it when engine off and 14 volts across it when idling

If the solenoid is clicking then its getting some signal from the ignition.
This problem was down to a dodgy immobiliser on my misses corsa, get a multimeter and check it out.

Check the volts from your battary too, this can be caused by a flat batt...
