does this sound about right??
from £20 of optimax, about 22.7 litres i get about 140 miles, tank almost complete empty!!
so full tank is roughly 45 litres which should give me about 280 miles!!!
this sounds very poor to me!
however its a lot of town too town driving and i do get caught in traffic for little while each time i drive, i drive sensibly most the time but i do floor it occasionally to the limiter!
this is my 3rd tank of optimax and even though its smoother and less jerky im getting less milleage compared to my normal shell unleaded of 160miles from £20

i get roughly 250 miles to a full tank on my GSi & mine is an Ecotec...
if I boot it, it seriously does drink petrol!

i have got 150miles on mine from a half a tank, which is £18. mine fills up at £37.58 exactly lol 47 litres 
But its a bigger car

had my Gsi over 2 years, it was COMPLETELY standard!
and i used to get 200miles from £20 unleaded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
then i put a viper and zorst on it, the miles droped to about 180 per £20!
then gradualy over the two years its just been getting worse!!
could it be because its in need of rebuild for past year!! as its leaking and burning loads of oil and doesnt feel no were near as powerfull as it used to 2 years ago!!

Well if there is shit going through the exhaust, its probably fucked ya lambda, if this goes it effects ya MPG and performance, also having an exhaust and filter causes slight overfueling and the unburnt fuel entering the manifold can damage the lambda too
Geta new one can be had from £35

change the water temp switch first just done this to mine as it thought it was cold all the time and acts like a automatic choke

every journey i do the fan always turns on as engine gets too hot, mainly because of the type of driving i do as i often get caught in traffic, and the gsi's overheat pretty rapidly!!!

Lambda sensor is in the exhaust manifold you will see the probe sticking out, the light dosnt have to come on for these to stop working, they just become lazy in operation, the collant temp sensor is on the left hand side of the thermostate which is on the end of the big blck pipe coming from the left hand top of rad as you look at car from front

These two sensors cannot be cleaned, if they mess up they do need replacing, the coolant temp one is about £12 the lambda is £35-75 depending on where ya go.
The lambda sensor might suprise ya these can really drop a cars performance when faulty

well i think that deffinatly needs changing then but the coolant temp sensor i think is ok, as the car doesnt overheat as the fan kicks in at right temp

th ecoolant temp sensor dosnt control the fan, it senses the temp of the engine and adjusts fueling to suit, so this could also contrubute to bad running and feul consumption

when ever i start my car first time of the day it spurts out a little amount of blackish liquid??
and if i rev it hard it will spurt out some more and then as engine gets warmer its ok
could it be petrol or oil? or a mixture of both???
would these sensors cause this??
