the hot air feed just takes heat off yer exhaust... PULL IT OFF

the red wire.. erm.. i dunno what it does but when i had a 1.2 8v engine i just tied it up.... doesnt make any difference to the running of the car....

on another note... an induction kit on a 1.2 is going to give you nice big flatspots...

if you do go for a cone filter, tap the red wire of with a screw and rip that bit of pipe off and use it as an extra air feed to the filter

Red wire is a vacuum pipe that reads the density of the air inside the airbox, and adjusts the valve to allow heat to enter from off the manifold. Fuel economy only. Bugger it off to get a shrew's wheeze more performance from the crud engine.

wel iv screwed the red pipe at the end it seems more torquey but u can always imagine these things but it also seems slower acceleration wise and induction mite be quieter as well

just put a self tapper into the end of it and cable tie it to any wiring.

afaik without checking you should be able to just cable tie it to the engine harness that runs to the o/s of the engine.

ok cheers mate, i might just try a drilled airbox and/or replacment panel filter, as if i go through a puddle or somethin and water splashes up into the engine bay and into my filter which will get sucked up into my engine and eventually end up in my pistons, and water doesnt compress so engine will go BOOM.

any reccomendations appreciated

Erm......... im no expert in this sorta thing......... but........

Im pretty sure water cant get through any air filter! Cause look at it this way, if water can get through, then so can dust particles and if thats true then it makes your filter pointless.

The most water can do to an induction kit is to clog it up and then you can generally wash them anyway, so its nw on that matter!
