the wiring is pretty much straight forward you simply match colour for colour from your loom to the astra/cav loom
heres what colours you have and what they do,you just match them to the same on the engine loom
black/red = starter motor
blue/green = oil pressure
blue/white = alternator
black1 = 12v for ecu
brown/white = diagnose
brown/yellow = diagnose
green = revs counter
brown/blue = motronic light on dash
brown/blue = coolant temp
red/blue 4mm = fuel pump
red/blue 1.5mm = fuel relay

the only wire i can think of that size in the footwell is what runs from the ignition switch then changes colour to black in the engine bay and connects to the battery

yep if its the same 1 im talking about that changes to a thick black wire in the engine bay this gives the power supply to
power steering control unit(if eps you have to connect the green rev counter wire to the single green wire from the power steering control unit)
heated power mirrrors
instrument cluster
central locking
heated seats
exterior lights
heated rear window
horn
etc etc
lol

whats your old engine is it a x12xe or a x12sz
does it have eps(elelctric power steering) not fluid type

right what you should of done/do
you remove the old engine,disconnecting all its wiring in the engine bay,fit the new engine on its mounts,the new engine will have the wiring loom attached to it from the astra/cav on one side there'll be a big black plug this isnt to be cut it goes threw the fire wall into the passenger side of the car and the c20xe ecu just clips in thats the ecu side sorted,now you go back into the engine bay and match colour for colour,the car should start and run
on the astra cav side of the loom in the foot well,there'll be a lil green plug with about 4 wires in it,this is where you find your brown/blue and brown/yellow diagnostic wires,you have to add wire to them and connect them to the same coloured wires off the corsa loom in the engine bay,you'll now have a ecu light on the dash which also shows you have power to your ecu
