Hi,

The Radiator Fan Housing on my new valver is VERY close to the exhaust manifold and part of it has melted (only a small part). Don't think it causes any problems but should it be this close?

Would it be worth investing in some lagging for the manifold? Can't be healthy having a red hot manifold so close to the radiator??

Cheers

Why not try putting a heatshield on the manifold?

I honestly don't think it would fit between the manifold and the housing they're that close!!!

Mines melted slighty, but its about 15mm away from the manifold now, only way i believe you will stop this happening is to use exhaust wrapping, personally i dont think its worth it for just a melting piece of plastic, it will cure itself!

I'm affraid you'll have to put up with the manifold close to the radiator unless you re-locate it, fit an override switch if necessary, thats if your worried about the manifold heating up the radiator!

Ive got a smaller after-market fan on mine which is moved over to battery-side of engine bay to clear the manifold easily. Have a look in Rally Design/ Tweeks etc... Another option would be to move the existing fan to the other side of Radiator and wire it backwards, it would need modifying to fit but nothing a few good zip-ties through the radiator & around the fan housing wont sort out...

i have developed a highly sophisticated melt-proof fan.

Manufactured from high quality B&Q shelving brackets and random screws from the garage, its a must for any serius valver corsa.

Get a kit car fan. They are very small and slim. you just drill 4 holes though the radiator and mount it then wire it in...

Through the fins, not the piping... You got to be able to pop the 4 bolts through...

Or if there isn't a good enough gap in the Corsa radiator to get the bolts through you can use some thin plastic thingies - not sure what they are called though

Na they aren't zip ties, they are special thingies for holding fans onto radiators.
