Hi, i fitted some 16v discs n callipers etc to my '93 1.4 corsa B SRi and the peddle (sp? ) has gone un-believably soft. I can seem to press it down for ages with nothing happening then all of a sudden they work properly. There doesn't appear to be any air in the system as we bled them about 4 times.

Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong. I was thinking that the master cylinder aint up to it but last time i asked every1 sed it would be fine on the current cylinder. Cheers for any help ppl,

did you bleed the backs too? common mistake that people only bleed the fronts when changing them.

No i didn't bleed the backs M15T XE We didn't think it would affect it, I will have a go at that sometime this week. Hope that fixes it. Thanx .

Stevegreetham we just used the jam-jar method: Partly fill an empty jam jar with new brake fluid and put it higher than the level of the caliper, get a piece of thin hose from B&Q attatch it to the bleed nipple on the calliper and submerge the other end in the fluid. Then just pump the peddle slowly and watch the air move up the tube into the jar, topping the fluid level up in the resevoir.

that will probably be your problem, there are essentially two circuits on the braking system, Front Nearside- Rear Offside and Front Offside-Rear Nearside, bleed them in this order as well.

they do this so that if one of your brake hoses split, you still have braking on two other wheels.

Good luck
