Its not the rear brake light sender unit is it? It should be on the rear at the top of the brake pedal (tells the brake lights to come on as you brake). Obvioulsey should have a connector on the end but cant believe it just dropped off...

@ chris_uk - u'd better hope ur wrong - u've got 1 2!!

Yeah, just noticed this having anotha look in the car TOMAS - although there's another 1 identicle to wot fell out, I think at some point sum1 must've fit a new 1 and just left this 1 loose in there 4 sum reason - coz the brake lights are working fine.
