when below 2000 revs it splutters. the engine doesnt seem to hav the power it should have, any ideas what could be wrong, thanks.

Idle control valve or Air flow meter probably. Neither are cheap so give it a service first, dizzy + cap if you have one, plugs, oil, filter etc
