Mates corsa ignition barrel has packed up tonight, the key wont turn no matter what, got the AA out and nothing they could do apart from to take it to a garage, the car is still in my garage at the min but i have just thought to save fees etc by a company could i somehow do it myself? i know how to change the barrel over BUT the column has one of those electronic pack things which i think takes a reading off the key where as the spare one i have from my gsi dont have that electronic shite 
anyone know how to do it as to take the barrel out you need to turn the key once which aint possible?

nah its not that expensive - i snapped the one on my astra want much to fix altho this is stuck in
