Im in the middle of changing the CV joint on my corsa.
Removed split pin & bolt & washer on the driveshaft
Removed the 13mm bolt/nut on the bottom ball joint clamp

It wont seem to seperate
I've tried using a screwdriver to prise it downwards but it wont move far enough.
Can anyone help me out here? Is there a certain place I have to put the screwdriver in? Any help really as need the bloody thing off!!!

he wont be able to undo the track rod end with the ball joint still attached will he?
you can buy ball joint splitters Matt. about 4-5£. get a fork type one or a smaller one with a bolt in it to push the end out.

course he will.... its only a 13mm nut. apply pressure to the nut and undo it.. will give you that little bit of movement to get the shaft out... failing that if you want the ball joing off. hammer a chisel into split, make it wider then hammer the ball joint downwards. that should free it.

right what you should do is:
undo the two suspension 18mm mounting bolts,
then undo the track rod end 13mm bolt,
tap the track rod end ball joint out of the hub carrier,
now tilt the hub and carrier towards you and this should give you enough room to remove the cv joint/driveshaft from the hub.
may need a slight tap with a rubber mallet or a hammer and screwdriver in the middle of the end of the driveshaft.

I need to do this, my CV boot has split in 2 and spreading grease everywhere, this might explain the banging on my front right, probably fcucked the CV joint completely and its not just a case of a new boot
