I've located the remote ariel cable on the loom that comes out of the HU. Am I right in thinking I attach the remote directly to this cable?

Prob a silly question to ask, I havent a clue, and despite doing a search didnt find the answer I was looking for.

whats the point of using a switch tho?
surely you'd want the amp to come on when the HU is on..
