yes i know, didnt thik it got posted on here though.
and yes i know its ripspeed, but seeing as most kit dsont realy work anyway, whats the point in paying out for a bmc or a viper, if the ripspeed one is the same thing realy, just different material inside, it must filter air ok and give a half desent sound surely,
and £60 for a carbon airbox with cold air feed cant be al bad.

ffs, i really can't understand how people are willing to cheap out on something which can either ruin ure engine or not...
ure talking about saving a few quid but in the long term the filtering capabilities of a Race X will lead to a build up of crap inside ure engine which will eventually cause it to knock/tap/be knackered.
Ure much better of buying either a viper if ure running a 1.6+ or a standard pipercross if ure running less than 1.6... they use a foam filter instead of cotton gauze/paper and therefore it lasts longer and does the job a lot better.
RaceX and Max Pooer stuff is just gonna knacker ure engine, if u dont believe me then fit one it'll sound wickid bo cos its basically like a pair of tights, just u wait after a few thousand miles.

who told you that? ALL poorly installed induction kits will give you flatspots, you need to be careful that absolutely no heat will reach the induction kit, which is tricky since corsa engine bays seem to run very hot.
Just drill your airbox and fit a performance panel filter, will sound just as good and better perform.
You have asked for peoples opinion on the matter, and said stay away from stuff you find at the ripspeed section of Halfords when it comes to engines.
what engine is in your car anyway?
