Took my dials out, and taken the needle out. now put it back together, and now my speedo is wrong, how can i sort it?

i lined up the point of the needle with the bottom of the 0 line then pushed it on, make sure it levels out at zero after a tiny creep forward, shouldnt be to far out then, not sure whats the right way to do it?? would also like to know, mines hardly noticeable tho

when you took it off, did you lift the needle over the pin and let the spring settle to its natural position, then mark where the dial was?
i think thats the proper way to do it to enable getting the needle back into the right place

isnt the speedo cable driven from the gearbox? or am I thinking of the rev counter?
Either way check theres no loose cables at the back, may of fallen out.

my rev counter is about 500 more than it should be as took needles off to put white dials in - not driven yet to check the speedo
