I have a 2.5" bore down pipe > system from powerflow with a cat. Passed all my emmision test yada yada so its all legal.
It is sooooo fucking loud its silly and i hate it. I want to make it quieter. I have a nice subtle twin pipe backbox which is EXACTLY how i wanted it to look.
Now ive heard so many different things from different people about what i can do, i just want o hear what the ppl of CS say!
I want it made quieter! How can this be acheived? Powerflow werent very helpfull and said that if i went for a different backbox (one he pointed out was some horrid jap style thing) it would have been quieter! That IMO seemed bollox as at the end of the day different tailpipes are all attached to the same backbox on powerflow??
Do i need to buy a new back box? As i dont wanna change mine as its perfect looking

does it have a centre box? if not fit one. if it does, fit a bigger one.
generally speaking the bigger the silencer box, the quieter the exhaust.

Usually on custom systems the back box is the only bit that has a silencer in unless you ask them to put a centre box silencer in. I cant see why this isnt possible to add a centre box if you dont have one allready.
Powerflow told me the opposite about the jap cans, they said they are the loudest back boxes they do!

I have a massive centre silencer in my Powerflow because it had no CAT.

a system comes with a centre box unless the customer says he does not want one then we tell them it will be louder without one.

As you have a de-cat pipe you either need a bigger center silencer, a de-cat with a silencer or a catalytic convertor fitted

i used a place called longlife near me and got excellent service they are specialists in only stainless exhausts thats all they do so are pretty good at it, id have a look in your local yellow pages see if you can find a local stanless place, but if you are willing to travel a fair way then some people may be able to sudgest some good places
