Hi,
I have a corsa b 1.2 sxi.
When i start the engine the revs drop low to about 600. Once I have been driving the car and turn it on again the revs drop really low to about 200 and sometimes even cuts out all together!
Also sometimes I have flat spots in the lower gears. Is this to do with the above?
I think the the problem I have is Idle control valve but could anyone just confirm this and also is a idle speed control valve the same??
Where can I get one really cheap or second hand and where abouts in the car is it?
Thanks lads!!
Steve

Easy, replace the bit outlined in red with a puppet sat on a sofa... covered in carb cleaner.

haha sorry steve basically buy some carb cleaner the one shown and then do a few things...
firstly give ure ICV a nice clean with it, some people remove it some don't i didn't remove mine just blasted it with the stuff then i also cleaned my intake via the instructions provided on the carb cleaner.
If you still have problems then i wouldn't fork out to buy a new one in case it isnt that and it is your EGR, lamba, temp sensor or something else - try having a diagnostics check and then u can act upon it
maybe even flash ure codes if ure corsa lets u, mine doesnt so i can't but most can? dunnno if u know how to do that so:
http://www.topbuzz1.carenthusiasts.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm
then check this for carb cleaner and inlet info:
http://corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=225913
my problem, quite similar but it was EGR valve so i removed it and cleaned it - that solved the problem (used carb cleaner again on it )

Theres some more posts i made on it i think lemme find the info then i will post again
