I've got to put a new clutch on a 1.0 12v, am trying to choose between LuK, Quinton-Hazell
and Vauxhall. Which is best? Does anyone know what the vauxhall oem is, is it sachs or
LuK?

i think......vauxhall use LUK but im not 100% sure.
Personally id go to a motor factor and get an LUK one. 1- because you wont get robbed
2- LUK will be more or less the same quality.

for a 1.6 they use valeo.... and charge you 3 times the price that anywere else does
just buy the luk or sachs and you'll be fine!

GM clutches will be one of the above probably, but re-branded. Check the Vauxhall prices...

thanks for help
I got the luk, cost £75 incl at camberly auto factors
Vauxhall quoted £95
QH was £55 but the guy who's going to put it on said it won't last anywhere near as long as the LUK.

another laugh on this about rip-offs
1. phoned www.carparts-direct.co.uk and asked how much for a LUK for my car; they quoted £132, compared to £75 at camberly!
The moral is that buying from internet isn't always cheaper!
2. and for a real laugh, I phoned vauxhall main dealer picador sholing and asked for a quote for parts and labour to put a new clutch on my 12v; their quote:
an astounding £520! The guy assured me that they "do the work to a professional standard".
Instead of that, I've got a luk clutch for £75 and local garage wants £94 incl for labour, so £170 all in
(which I still think is a bit steep - but compared to £520 is much more like it)
There's got to be a moral about main dealer prices there somewhere!
