My brother has a p reg 1.2 merit. the car is totally standard
the car fires up fine, when you go to move away the car just cuts out! it doesnt do it all the time though. if it move away and is deciding to work you can drive it fine, then sometimes it will cut out when you stop at lights etc??
car feels very sluggish and splutters abit too!
everything above is intermittent and becoming very annoying! he took it in to a garage and they said it was the plugs but they have replaced them and it still does it!
his HT leads look fooked so i have told him to replace them but could these be the cause or something else??
any help would be mucho apprieciated!

anyway of testing the airflow meter??
you can take the icv off and clean it cant you?

if you hav any pics of where the air flow meter is and how to take it off would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!
or where the icv is and how to take it off!

could be any number of things, if nothing apears on a fault diagnostics then its a case of changing things about, and seeing if that cures it.
Dont know if the P-reg was AFM or manifold pressure, if it has an AFM i would change that first, then clean ICV.
