Yesterday afternoon, i started the car, and drove fro about 5 minutes before parking up. There was a strange noise coming from the engine.
A bloke in a kwikfit guarage told me he thought it was the end bearing from the camshaft. I then took it to a vauxhall dealer, who have fitted a new water pump, gasket, and antifreze. £250 in total.
Anyone know what may have caused this? And am i being ripped off at all?

Its currently being fixed mate, should be ready about 12ish. Just wondering what may have caused it.

Its was like a small scraping/bubbling noise, like the bearing had gone. This caused the water pump to also go. It wasnt a constant noise, more so when the throttle was put down.
Just picked up the car so its all good. Its amazing how much you miss the car and it was just gone for a few hours.
