just put a kenwood stereo in my corsa b problem is when its switched on the date on the on board computer disappears althought the computer stays on is this normal or do i need to disconnect some wire as onlt two plugs were plugged in

cut the blue remote wire coming from the back of the radio.

cover the pin that wire goes into with a bit of tape, saves cutting wires.

ah so thats why
muppetsport i thought mine went out when i switched on me lights but it just dimmed to much and i relised there was a switch under the headlight switch to adjust this. have you tried that or is it only me that was that stupid

i presume it just stops the head unit sending any singals to the MFD so it just goes back to how it would be without any signal

the original headunit probably sends the information to display down the blue wire, so when u change to a new headunit that has a display the equivalent blue wire would be internal

don't worry mate, you are not the only one who did this!!!!!
i don't read manuals and i did not notice the dimmer switch as it has no labels etc on it!!!!
Mate showed it to me last week, i thought my alternator was fcuked!!!!
