strange noise has been coming from my 8v for some time,looked and listened carefully today its coming from the alternator or there abouts

there doesnt look anything wrong with it but there is a distinct loud tapping noise,at irregular intervals on tick over,not sure if it happens whilst runing mind

any ideas? alternator on its way out?

will a 16v alternator fit a 1.4 8v people?

rite people, i have a brand new alternator for sale but for 16v engine, will it fit wrightys engine?
