Tesco ask you (work there), its a legal requirement that any item sold which needs a tv to use they get the details of the purchaser. only have to fill in a printed off reciept thou takes seconds, name and adresss only i think. could write anything thou there never checked they are just sent off to the liscence authority.

Got my freeview box from Tesco's. They didnt ask for anything, just paid for it and fucked off.
Was only £30, Digilogic or some shit i think its called, got a decent menu set up tho, its kinda like the Sky menu but not as advanced

No they dont thats rubbish.... Go to a small independent and pick one up.
The sony one is by far the best on the market--- if you dont get that then all the others are much of a muchness.... get one with a scart if your going cheap....... I sell these at work and there is no legal requirment for us to take your adress or for you to give it me... thats just what the multi national companies(curries ect) tell you so they can get your details on their system and send you out extended warruntee details in 10 months time

the till prints them off automatically, so the cashier must of not give it you to fill in. which could of ended in her being fined.

just went to dixons to buy one, and apparently my postcode isnt covered by their signal, so freeview is not availiable in my area!  WTF im only 3 miles from town center!! rediculous! does anyone know of any plans for the signal to increase? or if anything can be done to get it?

I paid £100 for a Sony one. Although I agree that a £30 one from Asda will do the job just as well.

i have seen it on a website saying even if it says your not in a enabled area, but local to you is you can recieve all the extra bbc channels thats it.

mine does my head in, can't get a decent reception, bought one of those amplified ariels etc and still shit, i get a good one then 10 minutes later it goes shit, or i have to lay in a certain position

Mine didnt work when i used my insdoor ariel, hooked it up the one on the roof and it works fine now
