I was originally looking to spend about £350 on a PC but managed to buy it all secondhand for £100!
£75 - Dell Optiplex GX240 - P4 1.6, 256Mb RAM, 20Gb HDD, floppy and CD-ROM drives, Windows 2000 Professional (legit as well with serial number on the side):
£10 - 17" Compaq CRT monitor, which matches my PC case:
£15 - lightweight notebook-style aluminium keyboard:
£0 - Microsoft optical wheel mouse which I had spare
Well chuffed with my purchases, actually the bits only cost me £85 really as my brother bought the keyboard for me!
When I get paid I'm looking to upgrade to a 64Mb video card, and CDRW/DVDRW combo drive. Once that's done the PC will suit my requirements completely, as I will only be using it to go on the Internet, and use for Office/web design/MP3s - got an XBox to play games on.

Yeah I got the system and monitor off eBay, the keyboard my brother bought for me from Maplin's.
Not sure what I want to do with the laptop...

Computing is cheap!
I've a Compaq iPaq here thats as quick as my proper computer, cost about 50 quid for the base and I've got it on a second input on one of the screens.
Browsing the web there's nothing between them.

It took me about an hour of browsing eBay to find my base unit, as most of the other ones I've seen go for at least £100-£150! Got a proper bargain methinks!

Yeah 75 quid for a P4 is good price.
Out of interest what day did the auction close on? I've often said stuff is cheaper at weekends.
