Just got myself an Xe'd corsa and on startup there is a smell of fuel, the car idles fine and pulls like a train.
i seemed to have got like 50 miles from just under half a tank im pretty sure that isnt normal even with caining it here and there.
it currently has a slightly small then recomended bore and a backbox with a massive hole in it which im getting fixed as soon as i get paid again
what else should i be checking, i was going to change the 02 sensor see if that made any difference as i heard it has a puff of black smoke when just pulling off although never saw it the whole way back when i was driving behind it when we went to pick it up
any idea's

mine did that and it turned out to b a fuel leak on the petrol tank

it could be over fuelling, thats why i thought the 02 sensor could be at fault.
the guy told me there was a leak in the original tank and that he replaced it with a brand new one, tbh it looks brand spanking new to me.
if there was a leak wouldnt i see petrol all over the floor?

check the engine bay fuel lines. one of mine was split, and i was getting similar symptoms

not 100% sure where the fuel lines are but ill have a look.
are they metal from the tank to the engine bay then rubber?

yeah, the rubber bits are likely to have perished depending how old they are
