Seriously...now that broadband has come down in price to people actually still have the patience to use 56k?? i know i couldnt now.

My ex girlfriend's mum is too tight to get broadband, also a 286 running Windows 3.0 is faster than their PC!

Broadband is still not wide spreed, many villages just outside small towns can not get it.

my mate cant recieve it either and he lives in a town pretty close to me doubt its 99% of people who can recieve it id like to see the evidence from that.

My parents used to have it, but only when I lived there......as soon as I moved out, and got my own place, they decided they didn't use the internet enough to warrant keeping the broadband connection, so back to 56kbps they went...

anything faster than 56k, ie: 64k isdn is classed as broadband - though i find it hard that only 56,000 (probably more) people cant get broadband 
saying that though my bros village can get ADSL yet they dont have gas supplied

I'd class connection speeds as:
Narrowband: up to 56kbps
Midband: 56kbps up to (but not including) 256kbps
Broadband: 256kbps and above
Sillyband: 2.4Gbps and above (we have some of these in work, serious equipment)

Most definitions of broadband don't actually mention speed at all.

i think its more than 1% of computer users use 56k dial up.
alot of companies use it for online banking. For e.g our BACs payments, the computer dials up on 56k, sends the data, and disconnects.
A few ppl here also use it for online banking.
