Hi... I have just taken ownership of an L Reg Corsa GSI that has had a Matzel Power Box fitted on it... it looks as though it was a DIY job & quite poorly fitted... does anyone know much about these & what is needed for them to run correctly??? I have been told it may need a re-map The car is running very lumpy at the moment!!!
Please advise....
Thx!!!

The lumpy running won't be anything to do with a re-map. These engines with a mantzel run great without a re-map.
There may be a vacum hose left off, a shoddy gasket causing a leak, or numerous other things.
Is the EM light on?

Nope, no EM light hun... it's fine at higher revs but lumpy as hell at the bottom esp when it's cold!!! (Feels like it's missing & running on 3 cylinders)

Not entirely sure how it 'should' all look.... been trying to find pictures on Google.... as I said though, does look like a shoddy DIY job so I guess it's quite likely that pipes are loose/missing!!!

This is how they go on an X16XE, not too sure on a C16.

Should give you an indication.

What i was getting at, was the engine doesn't require a re-map. They run well.
Read the question at the top of the post!

That would be a good idea IF I was anywhere near the car to get the pictures at the moment... I need 2 gather as much info as possible before going to fix the car & if I still struggle I will then get pix & put them up here!!!
Cheers for the helpful replies & pix guys!!!

e-tec, how does that inlet sit in relation to the bulkhead, is it pretty close ?? cos someone told me you have to attack the bulkhead a bit to get it to fit right ??

the inlet is very tight, i had to knock the bulk head back a bit and re route the brake servo.
it sits fine on the lower inlet.

I also have a mantzel which was already fitted when i bought my car, this one looks as though it was either bodged or has since had a couple of breather hoses come loose. Doesnt seem to affect how it runs but i would still like to know if anyone knows exactly how it should be fitted.
The pipe running from the airbox to the mantzel is a real shoddy job in particular, seems to have been made up of odd pieces of pipe, does anyone know of a neater alternative?
@ Dean_W have you got any more pics of yours as mine is also on a 16xe? Also mate you asked donnalisa if the EM light came on, well mine does. Ive been told this is due to having the EGR blanked off, sound right?
