put the x16xe in..
theres a few things you would need, but theres a few engine for sale on here with everything you need

the reason i say put the x16xe is there wont be a massive differance between the engine you got now and the 1.4..
i put a 1600 in mine from a 1.2

The difference between the two is noticeable but you're right, not really worth it for 200cc more, 400cc on TB's maybe

1.4 16v's aren't that much quicker than the 1.2 16v's. Defo go for at least the 1.6

but arnt the gsi engines realy juicy compared teo the 1.2 and insurance would be higher too.

The 1.6 16v isn't necessarily a GSI engine...there's the sport and the GSI, and to be honest I can't see much difference in petrol consumption between the two.
It would be more to insure, yes, but if insurance was a worry then you wouldn't be doing an engine conversion!

because of fuel and insurance cost. 1.4 sport is gonna be cheeper. is it not. although i havent yet got a quote on a 1.6 so i could try that and see the differacne.

Will be a bit cheaper. Remember though the 1.6 is in the higher tax band
