Do Halfords, Motorworld, B&Q or Machine Mart will sell a socket separate rather than a set?

I snapped a 17mm socket attempting to loosen a stud after they'd been uber-tightened by my local garage a few weeks ago

Halfords, but they're not cheap.

halfords. I got a 14mm 6 sided deep socket last week end and that was about £3.50

go to your local garage and ask them to lossen it

yep, the sockets arent that expensive

I got a trade card too.
Only used it once to buy a single windscreen wiper.
