i dont really no alot about computers, but hopefully enough, i just need some help and advise.
my house is currently using a wired network which is gay cos i want to move about with my laptop. so i'd like some recommendations of reasonably priced wireless routers which are suitable.
my main question tho is how i can set up a printer everyone can use. there are 2 in the house an old one and an epson cx3200. how can i set these up for all to use. do i need a print server, and if so wot, or can it all be done by hooking it up to a computer on the network and leaving that on all the time.
im sure ill have more questions as i come across them, but thanks a lot to anyone who can help at all.

i will try and answer this simply for you..
You will need a print server to plug into the printer, something like one of these.
you can get a wireless print server, but expect to pay more. with the wired print server, you will just need to keep it near your router.
now your wireless router..
i think Linksys are quite highly recomended on here, one of these would be sufficient.
personally i use netgear products, but each to their own.
then all you need is your wireless PCI/USB card for your laptop/PC.
ideally, try to keep with the same brand as your router, so if you decided linksys then one of these or these PCI adapters would be sufficient.

Cheers guys, both massive help, just a couple of extra questions tho
I think ill go with the first two options from Barts link, so this for the epson cx3200 and this for the older one as its using parellel port.
Are there any compatibility problems or will it just work for any printer?
Secondly, the cx3200 is a 3-in-1 jobby, so it scans aswell. I presume this function will be lost over the LAN so for it to be used id have to disconnect the print server and hook it up to a computer directly?
As far as routers go i was looking and saw this does it seem ok?
Also does that router include wired connections at the back as there are 2 computers in the office by the router so i could safe money by not needing to buy wireless recievers for those.
I hope those questions make sense, and once again thanks a lot guys

both print servers seem suitable for what you want.
i havent ever used usb print servers, but we use alot of the older print servers with parallel ports and they work a treat.
As for the scanning facilities etc.. i dont see why you couldn't use that ability? your only chaning its location? should be ok i would have thought.
i dont have any background knowlege with belkin routers, but they are massively stocked in places like PC world so they cant be half bad.
and to answer the question about recievers for the other PCs..

if the printer is near a pc thats on most of the time, just setup printer sharing

iv had bad problems with my netgear as did tim, mine tried to connect to fast a speed and forced the connection to bomb out
got a dlink mimo and its perfect
